It’s no secret that the woodworking industry today is one of the competitive advantages in the Russian economy. The potential resources and opportunities in this sector are extremely high, providing ideal foundations for the development of woodworking factories in Russia.
The openness and willingness of companies to respond to the current needs of the market, develop internal capabilities and increase professionalism amidst the difficult conditions of the economic downturn are evidence of a new phase in the development of the woodworking industry. It will be possible to assess the scale of the future changes and opportunities at the WOODEX exhibition, which will take place form 29 November to 2 December at Crocus Expo.
WOODEX is a major international trade exhibition in Russia, which presents all the main international manufacturers of machinery and equipment for the woodworking and furniture industry; house building; primary and secondary processing of raw timber; logging; and forestry.
Since 2005, the exhibition has been supported by the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS), which is evidence of the high professional level of the event.
A huge choice for unlimited possibilities
The economic downturn has been a real test for timber companies and at the same time a period for addressing practical problems in the industry. In light of this, the role of the WOODEX exhibition, as an innovative platform to promote in the Russian market advanced resource-saving technologies for woodworking, wooden house construction and furniture production, cannot be overstated. The equipment presented at the exhibition helps Russian manufacturers increase their competitiveness, which, in turn, helps to increase the output of products with high added value.
In an area of more than 25,000m², 400 leading international companies will demonstrate effective technologies and approaches to production in various sectors of the timber industry. As usual, the exhibition will feature major national stands of Italian (Hall 1), German (Hall 2), and French, Czech, Turkish, Austrian and Russian equipment manufacturers and dealers (Halls 3 and 4). Visitors to WOODEX will have a unique opportunity to purchase equipment from leading international manufacturers, without leaving Russia: 55 companies from Germany (Homag Group, IMA Klessmann, Siempelkamp, Vollmer, Weinig, Wilhelm Altendorf and others); 6 from Austria (Schelling, Felder Group, Paul Ott and others); 50 from Italy (SCM Group, GRIGGIO, BIESSE SPA, KOIMPEX SRL and others); 8 from France; and 13 from Spain. All the exhibiting companies will show and talk about their equipment. Leading companies in the industry –including SKYDUNA, VITA Group, Global Edge, Dukon, Intervesp, Kami, MDM-Techno, Negotiant, Wintersteiger and AkzoNobel - will present new lines of equipment and innovative technology for all types of businesses. Companies will offer comprehensive engineering solutions for the design and modernisation of businesses according to individual customer needs.
Innovations for woodworking
Timber processing in Russia should become an innovative industry, said Prime Minister Vladimir Putin speaking at a meeting of timber industry professionals in September 2010. Today, the industry is clearly demonstrating a move towards resource-saving and innovative technologies that meet strict environmental standards. The WOODEX exhibitors support these standards and have expressed serious intentions to occupy leading positions in the future economy of Russia. This is evidenced by the issues raised by companies in the exhibition’s business programme, which includes three days of professional conferences and seminars. Last year’s conference on “Bioenergy in the timber industry” looked at issues such as deriving profit from recycling wood waste, production technologies and trends in the wood pellets and briquettes market, and selection criteria for biofuel boiler equipment. The search for innovative solutions for the development of the timber industry takes centre stage in a number of current industry issues.
The exhibition will also include the 6th Woodworking Leader International Competition, the goal of which is to encourage businesses to actively promote their innovative technologies solutions for the timber industry. Special attention at the exhibition is always given to the latest developments of Russian scientists. The development of production in Russia continues to be a priority for the industry, so the value of Russian engineering is particularly high.
WOODEX promotes the establishment of new business contacts, investment in woodworking, introduction of know-how and modernisation of domestic timber businesses, as well as contributing to the development of deep timber processing in the country and the increased competitiveness of Russian products.
If your factory needs support or you are planning to open a new business area, the WOODEX exhibition is a reliable and proven business partner for all those whose work is related to wood.
