Paris – The private foresters, which own almost three quarters from the French massif, have alerted the members of Parliament concerning the lack of necessary ways to assure the renewal of French forest. The alarm signal was addressed by offering an oak seedling to each of them. “Our resentment is deep when we see the forest treated only as a fiscal inheritance, and not as an economical, ecological and social asset that must be valued”, has declared the president of Fédération des forestiers privés de France, Henri Plauche Gillon.
On this occasion, the president added that “the demand of wood is developing, the energetic need will be considerable, and the wood industry has a future”.
