The volume of timber export of Irkutsk region in 2010 was 29% of the total volume of timber export of Siberia.
Last year the timber has been exported to 32 countries, in 2009 – 29 countries. The biggest quantity of timber was exported to China (77%). In Japan was exported 7%, Uzbekistan - 5%, Tajikistan -3%, Egypt and Germany - 2%, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan - 1%, other countries - 1%.
There is a decreasing tendency in exported volumes of round wood since May of 2009. The main cause was determined by the growth of export taxes on raw timber in April 2009.
