The Governments Charest and Harper have announced one financial help of 4,6 millions $ given to the wood industry.
More than 300 companies can receive a contribution in the new program of traceability of the wood products. This program has the purpose to help the companies concerning the responsibility in front of the new exigencies of the international markets regarding the origin and the quality of wood product. This initiative will allow the market of the industry from Quebec to be protected and, in the same time, it will stimulate its development.
Other details were mentioned at the press conference where the ministry of Natural Resources, Nathalie Normandeau and the ministry responsible with the Economical Development from Canada, Denis Lebel.
