Moscow, 25th January 2010 – RIA News: The role of forest conservation in the fight with global warming.
Forest conservation and restoration of their biodiversity will help to counteract global warming, says WWF (World Wildlife Fund) in Russia.
The forests are not destroyed are more resilient to negative external factors, their ability to recover its functions after these disturbances are maximum. This capability is provided including high biodiversity, which is maintained in natural forest ecosystems.
Because of this, the contribution that forests in preventing global climate change is maximum, said the press service of the WWF.
