The Spanish Confederation of business people in wood industry (Confemadera) published the results of foreign trade with wooden products (without including furniture trade), from the year 2008, which gets to 1 148,4 millions euro. This supposes a growth by 1,2% comparing with 2007 regarding the exports, which have been that high due to the sectors of plywood, joinery for constructions. On the other side, the imports got down by 27,3%, meaning 1963,3 millions of euros. However, regarding the total income, the imports are superiors to the exports, due to the wood considered as material for other sectors as the sector of the furniture production.
