The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development has annouced the reduction by 33% of the surface chosen for afforestations, as a consequence of budgetary rectification.
Thus, the buget assigned to the afforestation processes was reduced by 6.6 million lei.
The surfaces destined for plantation have been reduced from 2. 600 hectares to 1. 750 hectares. Last year, MAPDR was given 28 million lei of the state`s budget. The money were used for replanting trees and for the maintenance of last year`s plantations.
Olga Georgescu, Director of The Ministry of Agriculture explained that the surface chosen for afforestation purposes will diminish by 850 hectared, due to the budgetary rectification in april, along with the 6. 6 million lei decrease in fundings.
