Holzindustrie Schweighofer, which represents a top Austrian company in the wood industry has bought the the former Ikea factory from Suceava.
The value of the tranzaction has not been made public.
Holzindustrie Schweighofer invests up to 200 million euro in the wood industry and the new aquired factory is the third of it's kind owned by the Austrian group in Romania.
There are 1200 Romanians working for Holzindustrie Schweighofer. Almost 80% of the obtained production is exported to Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Holzindustrie Schweighofer cashed in 260 million euro last year, which represented a raise with up to 82% in comparisson to 2007.
This year's plans include the instalation of two plants, located in Sebes and Radauti, which would produce energy from biomass.
