ITTO (International Tropical Timber Organization) invites member companies, of the private sector, to participate in developing a timber tracking system.The main purpose of this initiative is promoting the trade with tropical timber provided by sustainable and legal sources.
Under this initiative, the selected companies will receive financial assitance for developing the tracking systems.
This ITTO strategy is implemented under the Strategic Policy Activity 13: Promote trade in tropical timber and tropical timber products from sustainably managed and legally harvested sources, policy adopted by ITTO through the Biennial Work Programme 2008-2009 and by the International Council for Tropical Wood through the Support Programme for the tropical wood trade law.
Currently, ITTO can finance 6 companies, contributing with 44.247 usd/company.
The interested companies are asked to send their proposals, icluding the following:
- the purpose of the programme
- methodology
- impact
- main activities to be followed
- duration
- budget
- workplan |
