According to a press realease of the Italian Statistics Institute, in 2007, the value of the Italian exportations registered a 8% increase, comparaing to 2006 (with 6,1% more than the countries from the European Union and with 11,1% more than the countries outside it). The exportations increase was registered in all the Italian regions; bigger volumes were registered in the island Italy (more than 15,7%), in the southern Italy (more than 9,9%) and in the north-western Italy (more than 8,2%); smaller volumes were registered in the centre of the country (more than 7,3%) and in the north-eastern region (more than 7,2%).
The cyclical dynamics, assessed on the basis of quarterly data, showed in the fourth quarter of 2007 compared to the previous quarter, changes in exports less than 4.5% for the northwestern Italy, plus 1.3% for the north-eastern Italy, 0.7 % less for central Italy and 4.3% more for the southern and island regions.
